Imperial Champagne -magic of champagne
Non-Vintage Champagne - the cornerstone of the Champagne business; accounting for approx. 85% - 90% of all Champagne production. Not every ear can be a vintage harvest and the producers need to blend the different years and even out the `faults`. If they were unable to do this the Champagne producers and growers would have been out of business a long time ago!
Even though they are blended from multiple years, it by no means they are inferior to Vintage Champagne. Indeed, Houses such s Krug and Armand de Brignac create their `Prestige Cuvee` via this blended method to Champagne.
That said, most of the Champagne in a Non-Vintage blend is from the same year, then older wines – known as reserve wines are mixed into the blend. Typically, a non-Vintage may have anywhere from 5% to 25% reserve wines in their Champagne blend.
Non-Vintage Champagne I also known as `Classic Champagne, because this as the original / classical way to produce Champagne.
